Follow the Collaborative Learning Cycle: Your care plan will gradually improve as you accumulate definitive outcomes. A definitive outcome is learning that a treatment worked, did not work, or was intolerable for you. Make a determination that a treatment didn't work requires that you take an adequate dose for a long enough period of time.
You can accelerate this process by understanding the predictive value of your outcomes. Each time you work through this cycle and achieve a definitive outcome, you get at least the minimum benefit for your effort- your knowledge of your individual response to treatment increases and leads to a new menu of reasonable choice based on your personal outcome history.
Each definitive outcome brings you back to the start of the cycle with an increase in your fund of knowledge. This leads to revision of the Menu of Reasonable Choices and gradually optimizes your care plan
